Specialist Teacher

Qualifications

Have interest, knowledge and a willingness to learn about and implement programs in Asian arts and physical activities such as, but not limited to

– Tai Chi.
– Calligraphy.
– Board games.
– Chinese traditional musical instrument.

Bilingual or Chinese-speaking preferred. Chinese proficiency will be strongly recommended.

Certified elementary education or subject endorsement preferred.

A certified teacher will always be present if a specialist teacher is not NJ certified.

Proficient in their area of instruction and have teaching experience, either in a public, private or enrichment setting.

Demonstrated subject area knowledge.

In the first few years of operation, specialist teachers will be hired on a part-time or as-needed basis to teach a variety of subject areas such as art, music, drama, technology skills, dance, and Physical Education.

Responsibilities

Report to Head of School.

Teach specialty subject areas as needed.
